Use these tips to help keep your WilmU account and all your digital accounts secure.
Be alert to suspicious emails claiming to be from Canvas.
LMS systems are the target of recent cybersecurity attacks. Be wary of messages that don't seem to come from your instructor or WilmU.
Report any unusual activity.
Forward suspicious email or send screenshots of suspect webpages to the IT Help Desk immediately to helpdesk@wilmu.edu.
Do not click links or open attachments in unsolicited messages.
If you don't recognize or aren't expecting messages from a sender, don't click any links in the message or reply.
Continue monitoring official campus communications for updates.
WilmU will alert you of any credible cybersecurity threats or incidents.
Free Account Security Training
WilmU provides free, five to 10-minute modules to all students, faculty, and staff to help you identify and avoid potential threats, including:
- Email phishing scams
- Dangerous links and unsafe websites
- Insecure passwords and weak account security
