Biography

Deidre Hecht Briar became the Adjunct Program Coordinator for English in the College of Education and Liberal Arts at the start of 2024. She has worked as an adjunct instructor in the College of Education and Liberal Studies since 2023.

She began her teaching career in Augusta GA, at Augusta Technical College in 2009. After leaving GA, she embarked on a decade-long adventure in freelance Technical Writing, working across a wide range of fields including education, business, marketing, commerce, and web content design. She embraces a practical approach to writing with a boundless enthusiasm for learning.

In 2023 she returned to her first love, creative writing, to work as a Developmental Editor with a specialty in speculative fiction and fantasy.
