Biography

Dr. Stephanie LoBiondo is an associate professor and chair of the Higher Education Leadership doctoral program.  She also serves as the co-chair of the University’s Human Subjects Review Committee and as the faculty mentor for the WilmU Softball Team.  Dr. LoBiondo holds degrees in psychology and sports/health psychology from St. Joseph’s University in Pennsylvania, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Innovation from Wilmington University.  She serves the University as an active member of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program’s advisory board and admissions team, on the Academic Integrity Project, and on several University search committees and promotion of academic rank teams.  Dr. LoBiondo also serves as a mentor to new program chairs. 

Prior to her full-time employment at Wilmington University in 2011, Dr. LoBiondo spent 15 years in the K-12 school system serving high school students and their families as a lead school counselor in Pennsylvania and Delaware.  She was named Delaware’s High School Counselor of the Year in 2004 and served on the Delaware School Counselor Association executive board for 14 years in a variety of capacities, including president, higher education liaison, and director.  Dr. LoBiondo is the only school counselor from Delaware to be elected to the American School Counselor Association board of directors.  As a board member, she served at the national level advocating for legislative action and changes, while supporting and training school counselors across the United States. 

Dr. LoBiondo is active in her community.  She served as the treasurer of the JROTC Parent Booster Committee while her son attended Sussex Technical High School and currently serves on the field hockey and lacrosse parent booster committees for her daughters who attend Milford High School.  Dr. LoBiondo participates in many charitable events to raise funds for homeless and women’s’ shelters and activities for children and youth at her local Parks and Recreation.  She is an advocate for the awareness of mental health needs in the military community and participates yearly in Go Ruck activities in the mid-Atlantic region.  Most recently, she and her husband participated in the Go Ruck CHAD 1000x to raise money for veteran suicide prevention.  Dr. LoBiondo enjoys the outdoors and mountain biking and is an avid trail runner and hiker.
