Frequently Asked Questions

Verifying Your Enrollment Status

How many credits do I need to take in one semester in order to be a full-time student?

A minimum of 12 credit hours is required for an undergraduate student to be full-time. A minimum of 9 credit hours is required for a graduate student to be full-time.

If I am registered for 12 credit hours and withdraw from one class, will I still be considered a full-time student?

Classes that you withdraw from are not counted towards full-time status. If you withdraw from a class and you receive financial aid, veterans benefit, or scholarships be sure to notify the Financial Aid Office if this will effect your full-time status.

How can I receive verification of my enrollment?

The semester schedule that you receive at the time of registration is your proof of enrollment. If you require verification of enrollment for an employer or background check, Wilmington University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree and enrollment verification.
